Overview:
Founded in 1209, the University of Cambridge’s 800-year history makes it the fourth-oldest university in the world and the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world. The University of Cambridge has approximately 20,000 students from all backgrounds and regions of the world, over 12,000 staff members, 31 Colleges, and 150 Departments, Faculties, Schools, and other institutions- thus no two days are ever the same. Students are members of a College community in addition to the University and a Faculty or Department. The 29 undergraduate Colleges provide accommodation, support and more for almost all students for at least three years.

- In addition to university tuition fees, all international/overseas fee-status students typically have to pay an annual college fee. This takes care of your College’s expenses related to offering a variety of pastoral, domestic, and educational services and assistance.

Eligibility:

- You need to submit your UCAS application for applying.
- You’ll need to submit a Personal Statement and 1 Reference Letter along with the Application.
- An application fee of 60 GBP (6,118 INR) is applicable.
- Some courses also require additional written work to be submitted.
- Interviews are taken with prospective students.

- However, Indian standard Class 12 marks are not enough for a competitive application at Cambridge and require the following tests-

- Offers for Chemical Engineering, Engineering, and Natural Sciences (Physical) may be made conditional on a rank of <2000 in the IIT JEE (Advanced)
- Offers for Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, and Economics (and other maths requirements) will be conditional on achievement in the Sixth Term Examination Paper (STEP).

Visa:
- If you’re going to the UK for more than 6 months, you need a Student Visa.
- A Student Visa application is made online from your country of nationality and residence.
- The earliest you can submit an application is 6 months before the start date of your program listed on your CAS.
- As part of the application process, you will be required to give biometric information.
- You MUST complete the process to obtain your Student visa before coming to the UK.
- You CANNOT come to the UK as a visitor and switch visa status
- You must apply online for a Student visa.
- REQUIRED DOCUMENTS-
- a current passport or other valid travel documentation
- a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your course provider
- proof you have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course – this will vary depending on your circumstances
- a valid ATAS certificate if your course and nationality require it and if you are studying certain science subjects, mathematics, engineering, technology, or medicine or a 4-year undergraduate Master in Physics or Materials.
- proof of parental or other legal guardian consent if you’re under 18
- proof of your relationship to your parent or guardian if you’re under 18
- your tuberculosis test results
- written consent for your application from your financial sponsor if you’ve received sponsorship for your course fees and living costs in the last 12 months
